Now I am not a scientist or anything like that but I have arrived at this theory: All planets start as gas giants, rings and all. Saturn being the youngest of the remaining gas giants still has prominant rings. In the billions of years involved with the creation of a solar system rings disapait and fade. I you are paying attention jupiter, neptune and uranus all have faint rings.Being the gas giants give off more heat than they recieve from the sun suggests there is pressure and compression of the gases. Gas compressed under high pressure for long enough will become a solid, thus forming a planet. theory suggests that saturn jupiter neptune and uranus are planets in development
