Ganymede

Ok on a space roll again. More moons. This is Ganymede one of the moons of Jupiter. It is like most moons of the outer planets composed of water ice and rock. Ganymede is thought to have a rocky core about half the density of the moon and a crust of icy material. The largest of the known satalites in the solar system; if not for orbiting Jupiter could be considered a planet.

Discovered by Galileo in 1610 using a home made telescope. Ganymede and three other moons of Jupiter are in the Galiliean Satillite family, Io, Ganymede, Callisto and Europa. more info here
