Zeppelin or Blimps

I was going to post this titled UFO... but then it dawned on me, we all know what a Zeppelin looks like. Is there a difference between a blimp and a zeppelin? Ah... a blimp is a zeppelin, but a zeppelin is not necessarily a blimp. Well of course how could I not look up what a zeppelin was defined as seeing as I am using a computer to write this...
–noun
1.
( often initial capital letter ) a large dirigible balloon consisting of a long, cylindrical, covered framework containing compartments or cells filled with gas, and of various structures for holding the engines, passengers, etc.

Dirigible being the name of the balloon airship as a generic term, back in the day when man in the air, flying was still a novel idea. The German man, Count von Zeppelin took the idea to lengths and ran with it. Producing the greatest of all dirigibles, the Hindenburg.
What a disaster that turned out to be.

I always thought a Zeppelin was manned and a Blimp was unmanned. But I guess a Zeppelin could be anything made by the Zeppelin company...
