Wait a minute...

Ok, hold the boat for a minute. It's now LAW to have health insurance... This is you know the sketchiest insurance there is... When needed to be called on, its generally "too late" and when you die the insurance co pockets the left overs. The insurance company has nothing to gain in this law? And now I am being TAXED for NOT having this insurance?? This whole Obamacare thing stinks of Unconstitutional.
And for those who in question of TAXED on something I don't have... You are fined on the Form 1040, resulting in a higher tax burden for NOT having health insurance.

#1501

In my day:
Kennedy: assassinated while I was in diapers
Johnson: from what I have read was a biggot
Nixon: just got caught doing what he needed to do for National Security
Ford: took office via chain of command as Spiro couldn't seem to get his tax papers done correctly or on time or both... as President, Ford proved to be unworthy of the job and that does including tripping on the tarmac to Air Force 1 several times.
Carter: other than his "fireside chats" did little to get this land moving in the right direction
Reagan: no complaints, seemed to have an idea of what needed done and how to execute such, had great charisma as I have read Kennedy had.
Bush: please?! One would think as Vice President would have learned a thing or 2
Clinton: cool guy but cool guys shouldn't be in politics let alone President of the United States
Bush Jr: was what they had to offer... aside Catrina, the damage to the Great Sphinx, Vietnam and what ever else you want to blame him for; did an alright job
Obama: I see evil in this man. PERIOD!

I think it is time we looked out side of Government "lifers" and Lawyers to fill this job, maybe someone with accounting in their background?

Did Nixon really invent inflation or was that Chip Wood?

Playing devil's advocate/idiot; I will pose a question. Is it the president that defines the economy or is it the economy that defines a president. Was Ronald Reagan just at the right time or was it just the time was right for Ronald Reagan? Seems we have not really had quite the boom since he (Reagan) was in office. Though I do commend Bush (the younger one) in dealing with a problem that had no solution (9-11).  Just as there will be poor always, there will always be evil. You really can't declare war on evil. Of course then again, that is a lovely Pandora's box to define evil. I think the economy will ebb and flow with little help from the president. There is the issue of tax burden, which is about the only thing the president can do to change the economy. Even so, corporations and rich people make a lot of money, so do you even the tax burden with a set percentage, or do you give beaks to the higher earners? I mean any way you set it; wealthy people pay more. Is it just an ebb and flow with the president getting the credit or is the president deserving of that credit?

With or without

I pledge allegiance to the Flag. "The Flag" in this case would represent "The State" of the USA. On a deeper note, does this not take a Fascist stance? Fascism being where the State supersedes the individual... Or perhaps that is wrong, "The Flag" standing for America, its ideals and beliefs? Either way with or without God... I pledge allegiance to the flag of the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. I say leave god in the it, gives it more substance, I wonder if Barry (pres Obama) knows this one verbatim?

The simplified version

Not wanting this to seem like a political blog, really its not but we need to look at things in a global sense.
Yes, peace and harmony would be great but this is the stuff dreams are made of. We can best explain this in extreme terms... bear with me, or should that be bare?
I am going to show you how trickle down economics works...
I'm the King... I have nobles and people under me, and then on the bottom we have the peasants. Now really it all starts at the bottom. The peasants till the ground, do services and labor tasks which provides money they pay me... I then take the money I make and disperse it as I see fit. Now if my peasants did not  make money I in turn do not make money. See it all starts at the top. The more I make the more I have to disperse and eventually it does get to the last guy... we will call him the snow remover (since that is the worst job that exists) The problem with this system is corruption and greed... the more hands the money goes through the greater the risk of losing money to corruption and greed. Its a simplified example to show if the money is not available at the top of course the little guy gets screwed. Just think, if peasants do well King does well and will need to build more castles... this makes for more work and the master builder is making more money now, he needs to hire more builders... who need to hire helpers, who get a little take of the money, and need to feed their families and the grocery store, the clothing mill and all the others in the land are making more money. And in the end the snow remover gets his share because it is a needed task that only occurs in the winter time, and only if it is a bad winter with lots of snow. Now if all the countries are doing well so it goes, the earth is doing well. But say China has a down turn in their economy; It would be a rough Christmas as that is where all the toys come from. Hopefully now you can see why it IS a brotherhood of man.

Me President?

There was such talk of change, and change it did, it changed into the same Washington corporate popularity it has been for over the past 30 years. Truly, drastic change is not a good thing. Tweaking would be more to point. The point being addressed here is does it really matter who wins the Presidential race?  They after all are all politicians. By the time you have been established in the Washington rat race long enough to get nominated for President, you have become familiar with "how things are done here." No one is really immune from the corruption that poisons the government. What is it that drives a person to be President anyway? I certainly would not want the job.

stop the madness

Mind your own business I would say.

now the way I see things:
ok so I read if you stop jailing for possession and use, this is a small number of cases (marijuana specific) most in jail on possession/use charges would be cocaine and heroin, my response to this is these too are victimless crimes, why not attempt to treat this as a social "problem" instead of a legal one? Its not really a problem in my book anyway. Myself, I have no desire to do meth, shot drugs in my veins, or mess with crack, speed or pills. My real point here is if these substances were available on the legal market there wourldn't be "drug deals gone bad" = death violence and mayhem. (see Glenn Frey- Eagles fame)

Burglary, Murder, Rape, Child Endangering, there is lots of crime out there, crime by definition has a perpetrator and a victim, who is really a victime in a drug bust?
It is you the tax paying citizen; seeing your tax dollar go to waste with the cost on policeing, tracking and busting an enteprenour just trying to make a living (it fwould be taxable income if legal)
Why does a government "for the people" have so much control over what we do?

Barack saves the day

see this and other spoofs on TheSpoof.com

President-elect Barack Obama announced his plan to solve the mortgage crisis Friday morning. Effective January 31st, the government will take over all private property.

"Private ownership is the root cause of these problems," said Larry Summers, Obama's top economic adviser. "If it wasn't for that, there wouldn't have been any mortgages in the first place." Obama and his team of top economists spent the last week reviewing various economic theories, and concluded that "capitalism just doesn't work."

Homeowners will be able to stay in their homes for now while the Obama team figures out how to implement further policies in light of the new framework. It is expected that the government will soon take control of all businesses as well. Once that is complete, occupancy of homes will be distributed based in part on how jobs are distributed.

A substantial amount of coastal real estate will be freed up as the current owners load up their boats, sports cars and jets with everything they own and head to other countries.

news flash

just a reminder: if you wish your vote to count twice, go your local polling location on Wednesday to vote for O'bama

Saturday, November 1

use your brain for once

what a day
MsPirate has to work every weekend so I sit here waiting. I do enjoy my weekends but would be nice to have a person to enjoy the weekend with.
I guess this is the reason I wanted a cat and couldn't wait.  I remember the days after my divorce when I was alone most weekends and the only one I could share with other than the computer was Achilles.  Having a pet does help fill the void of emptyness.

Yea, another blog post here of just putting my thoughts into text.  Censored text of course.

Came to my atttention yesterday, Peter Frampton is a supporter of O'bama.  Mr Frampton being a great musician (if your rock collection does not include Fampton Comes Alive it is incomplete) has been living in Indian Hill for some time now and is complaining about the political sign being taken out of his front yard.  Sounds like a sad complaint coming from a man who essentially wants for nothing.  If I was the police dispatch getting a call like that my only response would have to be "get a life"
Oh just to let you know, rich people live in Indian Hill and that would be for the most part  McCain country.

Oh and by the way, if you are an O'bama surpporter, don't expect any of his changes to show any time soon.  Under the Clinton administation it took till now for the "change" in credit credentials to take effect.... banks failing and the increase in foreclosure to rear its ugly head.  But as for his tax policies;  you will notice immediately a drop in the amount of money on your paycheck and a steep rise in the cost of living.  These two going hand in hand will worsen the economic conditions in this country.  Taxes are not the answer, they are  the problem.

I hate politics.  Most voters are stupid and don't understand what they are voting for.  How does increasing government spending improve a problem that is caused by the inability to stay within budget?
All politicians interested in improving the economy will vote yes on congressional pay raises.  Who do you think pays for our government?

Voteing based on his color is racist

if I can quote.. "not on the color of his skin but on the content of his character" MLK 1963

USSA?

knowing Neil Young music as I do, what does it mean?  I think the problems today match the problems of his day.  Does it relate?  I think it does, just a little different.  Instead of communism spreading across the globe could it be our country today?  I'm sorry, Obama is to close to Osama.  The man has recent and close ties to the PLO. Condoning the killing of Jews where ever they are and what ever they are doing.  I have seen his plan of redistriduting the wealth... does this not knock down the benefits of working hard?  Why would I want to do to law school for years, to become a lawyer and do better than the lazy bums that want to set on their asse_ when the end product is the same.  Sure this makes sense... I aspire to be a success in the profession of Law or get a phd when I can get the same reward just sitting on my lazy ass and be a sponge rather than a contriduting member of society?  Is this really what you want?  Do we need to change the name of the greatest nation on the earth to USSA?  This great nation was formed on the principles layed out by lawers, very wise men.  Now all the welfare bums enjoy the same benefits that are attainded through hard work and dedication.  Sure the street bum can go purchase a Rolls Royce instead of this being the end product of success.  Think hard before you mark your x
