windows 7

Any techy followers, I have this idea. I have looked into sys req for windows 7 and seems it will work on my xp computer, bought back in 03 ... I am wondering if I should go ahead and install on this computer or should I just try to steal some $$ from my gf's tax return and get a lappy with win 7 already installed?
