Lincoln

How can a plant be 'illegal'? Why in the world would you legislate a non-criminal act into a crime? By legalizing this crop you not only reduce the government spending on the control of a substance that can actually create jobs and income for Americans; you utilize this crop to its full advantage by allowing the jobs created in the growth, sales and distribution of such said crop. You create jobs not just in the cultivation, you are additionally providing new jobs for the transfer and distribution of hemp. Hemp is the paper the constitution was written on. President Lincoln not only wore clothes made of hemp when growing up, he enjoyed smoking a bowl of hemp on the front porch at the end of the day. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

One would think the US Government would have learned their lesson on prohibition from the attempt to make alcohol an illegal substance back in the 30's. Fools just never learn.

Much has been written on the subject

But, we'll leave the last word to Abe...

"Prohibition... goes beyond the bound of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded" -Abraham Lincoln

Its just information, right?
