It's not that hard, once you read the instructions

In the time I have been divorced I have learned many things; including but not limited to:  making a roast (pork and beef) roasting a bird, chicken and turkey, Pork really doesn't have to taste like shoe leather to be done, how to make gravy, creative chicken and dumplings (old neighbor showed me a thing or 2)  make super spicy salsa, cooking to perfection rice, eggs and mashed potatoes (need something to use the gravy for). I also discovered  drinking wine is an art, with dizzying effects, how to use the post office as my home address and renting is not really throwing your money away... oh the list goes on and on and on...

Please note I did use a semicolon to prevent a run on sentence...

Where did the time go and what shall we call it?

When does night begin? When does afternoon end and evening begin? Obviously afternoon is defined just by its name. Morning technically is 12:00 am or zero hundred in military talk but don't most people consider midnight still night? Guess would be to most, morning is when the alarm clock goes off and its time to get up. This brings another unknown into the mix... What about those that work 2nd or 3rd shift? If we go by the technical definition midnight being morning, does that not make the night shorter? Thus making for a long morning? So, when does afternoon end?
I say there needs to be more defined times than just AM and PM...

City Streets

something  about this tree was telling me to take a picture,
I have had encounters with trees before,
Just a simple tree on a city street
The threesome Speak no Hear no and See no

A Great Date

Interesting story I experienced last night.  I went out with my girlfriend to see The Rusty Grizwalds, in Deer Park. I'm standing there checking out the band, or the stage, I don't think the band had come up yet. A woman, 10 - 15 feet away from me is looking at me; as I can tell straight in the eyes, saying something. I check over my shoulder, yup... she was talking to me. I look, she had that familiar look, someone I knew or had talked to in my past. I step a bit closer, and I can hear her saying "How's your daughter... Heather, is her name, right?" brief pause, she announces straight to me, I have this way of knowing when someone is talking to me... "you have a daughter?" I quickly answer, "yes, but her name is Jasmine." Lisa (I think that was the woman's name) continues, "Oh, well I was close, a flower of some sort... so how is Jasmine?" Then the memory started coming back, I had talked with this woman a few times when I was living in Deer Park hanging in a local drinking establishment. I did recall how she had spoke, very excited at that, about her new house that she and her then boyfriend had just purchased.  Lisa was speaking of the house at 4011 such n such a street. She did go on to explain, you know... when you have more to do than you can possibly accomplish and you call it 40- 11 things to do. Struck me as rather odd that I would remember this from more than 10 years ago.
The night went on, quite nicely, Karen even commented on how we had both seen people that we knew from "back in the day." My girlfriend, Karen was the main reason I made it a point to be at that show. She's about my age, hitting the party scene in clubs back in the 80's when dance music was all the rage. That is the music the band Rusty Grizwalds specialize in. Karen, lives over the west side of town, met up with some old friends she went to school with last night... I was thinking, for me, if was easy to meet someone I knew, I lived in Deer Park for quite a number of years, Karen on the other hand, this was her first time ever being in Deer Park. Would have to go in the category of "Unexplained Phenomena".
Last night would go down as the best date we have had to this point. Here I thought the first one at the fireworks in Blue Ash was going to be hard to beat. We did work our way up to the stage, so we could be right in the mix, little dancing, lots of hugging and kissing. I had a great time, and even better than the closeness, I could tell Karen was having a great time, she did a lot more dancing than I did. Reminded me of last week end at one point, I found some music files on disc, Billboard top 100 of the year. I have collected these, as a hobby; from 1970-1989 or so, think the only missing year is 1981. I put the file from 1983 in and about every song was "Oh, I love this tune." Most other years, seemed to be topped with "Don't think so." Only a few tunes Rusty Grizwalds did got less than "I love this tune" and a happy dancing girlfriend. Thanks RG... I have caught you guys out at festivals and such several times, never to be disappointed in a good time, this one topped em all.

just a few words

You are the one I love
You have no say in the matter
If I die tomorrow it will be
With the knowledge that
I have loved the one I am meant to love.

Life is not so much about how much you love
Life is about how much you are loved

New Year Day 2011

I sit here and think, why would anyone want to follow my blog? hmmmmm
I can't come up with a single reason. Some things are decided with out a reason though. I do hope that reading my senseless manipulations of words does bring a smile to your face or maybe a thought every once in a while.

What about going to Mars?

I have been accused of using subliminal messaging in my blog before. I don't know where the said accuser would get such a silly idea. I just write what's on my mind, and sometimes throw in an opinion here or there. Not saying I'm always right, just usually.

Have you called your sister?

.... so what was it I was talking about? Oh yea, water your lawn this year. Usually about July you need to start watering if we go a week with out rain. Trust me, it's cheaper than replacing or repairing.

I know, it is somewhat of a one sided conversation here. It does help to have some feed back to keep the subject matter fresh and moving along. Have you ever looked at it as talking to the computer?

What about this fad with texting friends?

Are you still with me? you had that glassy look in your eyes, as if I wasn't saying something important. Where was I again, ah, sorry about the penmanship, I have sloppy handwriting.
I've been told it's because I'm left handed and it's harder to push a pen than pull it.

Can you identify the weed known as Black Medic?

This has been an attempt to draw a smile.... :) did it work?

Well that's all I have for right now, thanks for stopping by and reading.

Giving the man his due...

Well no wonder before Columbus in 1492 they thought the world was flat, and being a flat world the water had to go somewhere. Hence, the point of no return. So one sees Chris must have been out of his mind, the ones that signed up to be the crew were off their rockers too. "Are you kidding me, can't you see, the water comes to an end and...." So... what was it that Christopher Columbus saw that put this crazy idea in his head and to risk it all. And all for what, just to have a day on the calendar named for you, and not everyone gets that day off of work? In my estimation Christopher Columbus got "Historically Jipped"

exploration... I wonder... does it really...

Next time Columbus Day comes around... Lets just party like we're going past the point of no return.

Birthday today

Of my favorite bands: Happy Birthday Keith. 67 years old, does this not throw a wrench in the "drugs kill" campaign?

No but really, he has been rated in the top 10 of the greatest guitarists. Though I would agree, isn't this list skewed by personal preference? I mean while you may think Brian May or Carlos Santana to be "the best" my opinion would lean more toward Jimmy Page. Well this post is supposed to be about Keith Richards.
Now if you were pretending to "grow up" the same time I was, you would know at least a handful of songs featuring this guitarist. Including but not limited to the disco dive the Stones took with the release of "Emotional Rescue".
In closing just let me say, Give me Shelter!

Choice

Choices are hard to make, some more than others. I am reminded of a line in a song,
"If you chose not to decide you still have made a choice."

When left with no choice you do still have a choice. 'Nothing' is only a state of mind, even if you have nothing, you still have something... and that would be 'Nothing'.

Just remember that whatever you do, it will effect someone somewhere somehow, even when the choice is to do nothing.

When does Duh start with a capital D

Not sure you will find this as amusing as I did, however... I was thinking, when I go to buy lunch meat top rating choices would be Roast Beef, Ham, Turkey or Baloney (bologna). Since only one of these choices has more than one word couldn't we chop it up and make it an easier order? Instead of Roast Beef, why don't they call it R B.... ding! wow... Arby's???? So.... that's where they get that name. (am I slow or what?)

Brief re-entry to blogging

Happens many times, I am "caught" aka busted, looking at her. This does seem strange as I have never been told it was against the law/rules/regulations to look at her. So she does immediately ask the age old question: "What?"
This seems to be an incomplete request. What are you looking at? What are you thinking? What...  I have always found this question to be a little on the side of aggregating. I don't know how to answer; so I do try to explain, I am just looking at you.
Baffled.... "why did you have to say it that way?" Perhaps the statement that 'it' was in relation to struck a nerve? aka Hit a chord or in layman terms, blew my mind. Of course my favorite to memory would have to be the letter I dropped off. Beginning with the word PLEASE, no exclamation points in the 'text' and simply a request. The resulting conversation by phone of course started with "why did you have to write it that way?" My only response "Uh".
Isn't Friday night supposed to be a night for dating? A time for lovers to go out and not always to the bar to consume alcohol? Why would she want to go out and not invite me? Seems her plans include going out with her X husband, which is cool, I would like to be friends with my X but X being X... well you might understand, she still seems to have animosity for the way I felt respect and discipline needed to be incorporated in raising our child. So starts the destruction of what I was trying to rebuild. I will say this time it is not my fault.
Well so much for that topic. I have begun to do a little more exercise in my mornings. I have been, not without fail, been doing push-ups in the morning. Starting just a few weeks ago, I was doing 20. Finding I can do a few more in a series now. Up to 30, I for one, am impressed. Not so much a weight control thing, I was just getting tired of seeing the same scrawny body in the mirror. I have noticed a more defined chest lately, only been a few weeks of this.
Love of self; I see something I don't like, I do what I can to change it. Change is good, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

audio, you gotta love the tunes

I did finally get that flash drive back from my buddy. Wow.... talk about computer probs that stump me, he keeps calling me with computer issues, and everytime has stumped me so far. I used to have such a handle on computer problems. From sound cards to tool tips coming up behind the task bar. I have done what to some might seem a bit of trickery but just turns to be tracking the answer down. Just talk to the right people and google helps if you know how to ask the question you seek the answer to. So back to Tommy's computer...  just the way he gets these ??? funny quirks with his computer. Told me he "started over" what I would know as format. But anyway, just hanging around a few and had some time to jot down stuff. (I use that word a little too much??)

The next line is going to be strange as you don't know what it is referring to...

She said yes, so she does... I will put away the fear and move ahead.

To be continued?   Yea, well yesterday at the Cellmart was a drag. After I spent a few minutes (15 to be exact) with MsNeo on her work break, went back to the Cellmart. Guns a flairing... so to speak; like I said before, I'm not one to raise all kinds of .... but, if I can stop the ineptitude of that one clerk/associate/ sales shark, I will have not worked in vain. Different associate this time, at the front counter even; was alert, and seemed like a better "people" person. I don't mind the head set cost $10 more, especially in light of the fact that it was the first set I picked up and yesterdays 'associate' recommended I could save $10 on the ones he picked out for me.
Imagine that, the phone puts out a good sound with the headset. I wonder if this phone can read FLAC audio files? The answer to that and many more questions may be answered in my next post.

Can't sleep again

well, how bout that, I can't sleep. Going on 2am and I was just laying in bed, tv was on but cut that off, still couldn't sleep. Can't think clearly either so this is feeling like a lost cause. Sometimes I do wish I had a laptop and could do this sitting elsewhere in the apartment.
This is the crab nebula, I get this in email about everyday from this site. Picture of the Day.  Some days its just text, some are pictures of NASA officials, but most are pretty good space pics.
Well I did finally get to sleep last night, but it wasn't a long, good sleep. I really don't need that much sleep though.
Now in dealing with the last post "learning and cracking the code"... Had a different slant from start to post, thus the name changed... well the link is there. I am not wanting to beat a dead horse with a stick but...
How does one put a writing program together with out a way to indent a paragraph? I just think it wise to know a few of the HTML codes to help along in your writing.

Me and Music

Reading through a bit of the suggested reading provided by the many blogs I am following. One in particular inspired this post which shall name several songs I think would describe me, my thoughts and feelings best.

Brain Damage- Pink Floyd: comes to mind first by not only the title but also some of the lyrics seems to describe me in many ways. I have been called a lunatic several times in my life, on the grass, in my head, I am not listening to that right now so the lyrics do avoid my thoughts.

Rambling Man- The Allman Bros.

Bring it on Home- Led Zeppelin

Magic Man- Heart: Not sure that pertains but I can dream, right?

Who's Crying Now- Journey: Found myself in that state many times this year

I Can't Explain- The Who: need I explain?

Cinderella Man- Rush: If you know this song and know me and my past it does make sense.

Live and Let Die- Paul McCartney and Wings: We really don't have a choice in the matter

More Than a Feeling- Boston

Announcement vs Rambling

argh Matey, as my nic suggests, Neo, Pirate or for those who visit, Greg, or Gregory. I have decided to do away with my newer blog site known as Gregs World. The issues I spoke of, in a previous post, while small and of little importance, did enough to make me open another page to use as my 'avenue of posting'. I just couldn't let go of the characterture (check if that's a word) I had created as Pirate Named Neo (refers  to Neo matrix series and a cat). So with the recent resolution of such issues I am deleting GregsWorld on a permanent basis. It was beginning to just become 'another choice' in life. You know the drill, what shirt should I wear today.... what should I have for breakfast... should I post this in Neo's or Greg's page. Made life a little unnerving and unsettling. Too many decisions to be made in a day.

I am working on a new strategy to my live and the way I deal with everyday problems; including but not limited to: computer issues, breakfast foods, and interpersonal relations. Never settle (I haven't done that many times) and Never get complacent (quite guilty of this one). Its so easy to 'let' things happen, or say, accept life 'as it is' as if I have no choice or power to control what happens next. Of course I have a choice, save ... taxes, death, and wear I am buried, I always have a choice. I can even get around the taxes part of that if I don't mind living as a fugitive or in very tight quarters surrounded by criminals.

It has now taken me 40 some years, well hold on a sec... Ok, bear with me here a moment...
Growing up we will call 18 the age you start figuring out life, will call it 10 years experience and training before you really have the where with to make intelligent decisions; so we will say that life starts at about 30.
Ok so I'm in the game now some 17 years. Yea 2 divorces doesn't stand in the caliber of Saint; failure is one of the best teachers though.

Should I live in the name of love, or in the name of God? I think they are one in the same.

Where ever your faith comes from or takes you too; isn't it a universal thing to be kind, nice, supportive, true, etc etc.? All the defines of love would have to be the same as 'Good'.

Neo and Aries

The "bright" one with glowing eyes. Knows he's a house cat and doesn't realize he has claws, instead he insists on biting.

The other, thinks he's a tiger (bengal) is all goofy, won't leave the other cat alone and is for all his cuteness a real jerk.

Phones

Trust me man, I don't have alot of experience in cell fones and prefer to stay away from the mini-computers in a pocket like the cranberry or what every they named that one. So I'm lookin to improve the equipment on my cell plan. Pretty easy upgrade as the phone I have is the cheap, give away all the big cell carriers have to draw you in the door. So all I am looking for is like a flip-phone, with a slide out keyboard for texting. Think they call that a QWERTY keyboard. The plot thickens here... as MsNeo is back and looks for keeps, I want to get her a phone too. So looking at what Verizon has, I had my flip-phone all picked out, she is looking at this env-touch. So I am being helped by the guy I talked to on the phone a few days earlier, Mike. MsN is checking the phone, feeling a bit worried as I was still "I don't need much just talk n text" so why she is looking at the env-touch I say to Mike, write it up, she wants that one. Then Mike tells me "you could get 2 of these, and it will cost less" well shit... wtf... nicer phone, and save cost... I'm in. Not only that but for just another some god awfully low monthly fee get a third phone, and another line for her daughter. I mean I am getting all this just about bargain basement price... Life is really sweet sometimes.

just another post.

Interesting shot I would say, outside rings, Titan, like a million miles away, and Epimetheus, 415,000 miles away. cool, but really, a moon that small? how bout we call the small moons of Saturn Space Debris? I mean Pluto isn't even considered a planet anymore.

So I was just thinking, climate change, global warming and all that. The Ice Age wasn't all that long ago, maybe we are still coming out of and whats with a little warmer? Around here its the humidity that gets ya in the summer, a few degrees more is not that big a deal. Besides, that means the winter will be warmer too, I could certainly do with out the single digit temperatures.

Now as I have alot of time on my hands I am posting now in few different blogs, yes I have gone mad, I have now lost all control of my addiction to computers and blogging. See this
