stop the madness

Mind your own business I would say.

now the way I see things:
ok so I read if you stop jailing for possession and use, this is a small number of cases (marijuana specific) most in jail on possession/use charges would be cocaine and heroin, my response to this is these too are victimless crimes, why not attempt to treat this as a social "problem" instead of a legal one? Its not really a problem in my book anyway. Myself, I have no desire to do meth, shot drugs in my veins, or mess with crack, speed or pills. My real point here is if these substances were available on the legal market there wourldn't be "drug deals gone bad" = death violence and mayhem. (see Glenn Frey- Eagles fame)

Burglary, Murder, Rape, Child Endangering, there is lots of crime out there, crime by definition has a perpetrator and a victim, who is really a victime in a drug bust?
It is you the tax paying citizen; seeing your tax dollar go to waste with the cost on policeing, tracking and busting an enteprenour just trying to make a living (it fwould be taxable income if legal)
Why does a government "for the people" have so much control over what we do?

Follow up[

If you are a regular reader of my page you will remember an article about a high school student (with 3.7 gpa) Making a point after reading an essay on Legalizing pot lit a joint and smoked it in class, ate the remains and was then arrested for possession. Well here is a follow up. I have to give the young man credit for standing on what he believes.

By now you have probably figured out I do smoke and would like to see it legalized.

One point I have made in the past, how can you make a plant illegal? poison ivy has a much greater risk factor than marijuana, its still legal.

Cigarettes and other tobacco product are legal. Of course "big tobacco" has our gov't officials in their pockets.

We (U.S.A) have even tried the Alcohol Prohibition road and found that to be a failure.

So where does the madness end?

I feel so much safer now

Now this would have to be the most terrible crime I have ever seen
Don't you feel safe knowing these people have been put in jail?
and don't miss this one, just a few miles from my home.
Hardly a waste of tax dollars sending cops to bust pot smokers, dealers and running radar on the highway, instead of investigating real crime!

Rant 1

I went to the store, purchased a pack of Marljuana. I also saw I could get Pot Edward or maybe some Pot Mall 100's. On the argument that marijuana leaves a toxic exhaust in the air; most places in the U.S. and Europe now have smoking bans indoors. Beyond that, marijuana mixed with smoking tobacco known as a cocktail (not that I have ever done that) does not leave a burned rope like stench the the room.
Lets look at the facts:
If you can buy pot in the store why call and buy it from a "criminal"?
If pot is legal where is the crime?
If the pot dealer pays taxes he is no longer a criminal (not that it is even a criminal act now)
taxing the product makes money for the criminals, err politicians in Washington
creating a legal industry sounds good to me. Taxes everywhere in this venture.

Take a ride down Holy Roller Lane with me, you say its a sin its devil weed etc etc...
I have read the bible, not extensively but I have yet to read in there, (even in parables) smoking weed is a sin. Devil's weed? excuse me, only God creates, Satan simply distorts that which is.
If God exists, we'll hypothetically say he does for arguments sake. He has given me the ability to choose, right, wrong or indifferent.
Do you think pot should be legal? do you think Obama will ever see this?

I'm really not a pot head, just think they use up to much jail space with victimless criminals.

jail a person for drinking and driving? Even if a crash has not occured?? is there something wrong with this picture? How about the cop pulls over a person unable to safely operate the vehicle and give him a ride home? You know Andy would have done that for Ottis and day Sunday included! The lawmakers (crooks); did I type that outloud? are making laws to create revenue, not for our safety!

History

If memory servers (often not but I think I got this one) Al Capone rose to infamy during the Prohibition of alcohol in the 20-30's. I think this was a bad era of American history and think we are going down that road again with the "Drug War"
Captain Obama ... please stop wasting my tax dollars!
