Tigers not Lions or Bears

So the comparison is Bengal vs Siberian.
Not to seem "racist" but I think all tigers look alike. Is there a difference besides the local?
One would have to assume there is a difference, the Siberian obviously has longer fur.
One thing does come to mind, is the stripe pattern like a finger print?
Scenario A) police station, accused tiger is detained, while being 'booked' has to give a body print.
     What tiger mauled him, Bengal or Siberian? Does it really matter?

Well, apparently NASA has decided to rule out my proposal to re-classify some orbiting objects as "space debris" and it comes down to any orbiting object in the space around a planet is called a moon.  By this definition the only reason the asteroids are not moons is they are not orbiting a particular planet. Seems the only credentials a body needs to be a moon is "orbiting a particular planet". In following this logic I propose we rename and re-classify Saturn's rings to Moons. 
My definitions-
Moon- spherical in shape orbiting a parent planet
Space Debris- oblong, irregular shaped bodies orbiting a parent planet, or just the chunky rocks not orbiting anything (to keep them from being called asteroids)

We Are the Champions

Well, in the days of old, long ago, etc etc... I would actually watch and enjoy basketball. Just doesn't swish my basket anymore. I do think the game is a more "live" action game. I remember one time in high school, I was up in the bleachers during a practice looking. The game seemed to have a more pattern; as I could watch the way the play was set up and not keep my attention on where the ball was going. It was interesting to notice. After that I would catch the games during March Madness; then not being up on stats, records, wins and losses I was a bit at a loss of who was going where and who would win, lose or tie. Sorta follow the 'home' teams. University of Cincinnati was usually in the mix and University of Kentucky was there as well. Of the two I would put my 'money' on UC but not following the season or knowing what the odds of each were I was rather mifffed by the whole count. Sweet 16 down to the fantastic 4 or what ever they called it. I would try to stay with the games to the end. Usually drop the ball when those 2 were out of the hunt. I never 'filled out boxes' or had money riding, I would just watch for the sake of fandom. I always seemed to be at a loss "at the water fountain" in the mornings. I just never understood what the fascination with a silly game could be.
         Basketball almost reminds me of watching golf. Now I know at least one of my readers is into golf, and I think it to be a wonderful game of outdoor fun and activity. I just never saw it as being a spectator sport. It is not a fast paced game, there are no cheerleaders (which is what the guys like) This seems to be the problem with baseball as well; and the score is a bit backward. I have been told watching golf is to improve the technique of the swing, the stance, the swing and the follow through; I don't know, I worked on a golf course for a few years and golfers (they don't call them footballers or basketballers) seem to be people of hate. I swear, the few times I was hit by a ball, it was intentional. Aimed and picked! Tell me Doug, do you ever aim at the employees?

So anyway this is about 75000 square miles, I imaging you would use this sort of information to set a landing area. I do see several areas here that would be good. I see several on the center left of the shot, another great one would be about center of the image. I guess they had to do this sort of mapping with far inferior equipment back in the late 60's for the Apollo Missions.

Speaking of Apollo Missions; July 20 (mark your calendar please) will mark the day Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the surface of Luna, 40 years ago. Was listening to one whacked out conspiracy theorist on the radio saying it was all a hoax. He said take off > orbit > splash down were real but man never actually walked on the Moon. I have seen photos of rocks that don't look like anything you find on Earth, the Earth rising photos, and far to much documented proof of such mission. Second, there are far too many people involved in this program to keep them all quiet; wouldn't have someone in the know have come forward by now? Especially if you think conspiracy means there is potentially allot of money involved. Back in 1969 100k would have seemed like plenty of money to buy someone off, now days 100k is like nothing to a pirate. (conspiracy come from pirate)
Heck I'd take the money and then write a book about the whole deal, plenty of people would read and likely believe it.

Not so much a new trend, if you allow large crowds to gather and party, of course there will be a huge mess you will have to clean up. I have personally seen this at the numerous summer festivals I have been to and to the big fireworks show on the Riverfront here in Cincinnati. I just feel a bit disgusted in being a part of the race that shows this little regard and respect for an international park. Photo credit here.

The Oxyclean guy is gone, what should we do? I can't beleive this is true, my oxyclean guy is gone, kaput, to shout no more. This is a travesty, a disaster and a real bummer. Without the Oxyclean commercial how am I to pick myself up from the muck and the mire to go on cleaning this or that or the next?

Sunday morning ramblings

in the lower left corner is probably the best feature on Windows. The Quick Launch tool bar is what I open programs with. I can keep my screen free of all the clutter from the icons on the desktop. I sure hope Bill doesn't get some wild idea of changing this like he did "add/remove programs" when Vista came out. I recall one of the first things I was doing with my new computer was get some of the worthless junk off the hard drive. So I open the "control panel" and look for add/remove on the top row of the "Classic Windows" view. I couldn't find it, or on the next line down. I was getting sorta nervous at this point. If we still use the same language, A as in Add would be at the top. How the heck do I remove programs. Well the whole experience was short lived, seems Bill saw what nobody else saw. The add/remove feature needed perfecting on top of already being the perfect feature. Now called "Programs and Features" and he also decided that since there is no reason for me to be using that "feature" moved it down the list almost halfway down the page. Minding that the "classic windows" has also changed into something I have never seen before.
Doesn't this defeat the purpose of the name "classic ".
It does after all done and said, make more sense the way it is now. I don't believe I ever knew how to add a program through the "add/remove" feature.

If you don't want to see all icons on the desktop you don't have to. Simply right click an open part of the screen and click on view.

New idea for Bill, instead of a start button we start calling the start/stop button, and put it in the system tray

Now, real quick, look up at the tool bars on the top banner. Is yahoo there? Lets think about this for a minute, a tool bar is a short cut to features on your computer. Best to keep it simple. Remove yahoo as you have probably never used it even once. Email? come on now, yahoo is already in more short cuts on your computer than "my computer". We are looking to save physical space on the monitor, don't take up room with something you don't need. Now if you want to access the web and all the information available to you using something as lame as yahoo go ahead be my guest (in my opinion yahoo tool bar is the most useless tool bar available)

The Saga Continues

The saga all started last winter. With my "end of year bonus" I payed to get the water pump on Green Monster fixed. This included new water pump and timing belt (had to take t belt off so might as well put a new one in) and (still a problem now) hook up the cooling fan to the electric. Well the cooling fan ended up being a bigger problem than I thought it would be. Burning up the ignition switch, being hooked straight into the electric system, so a toggle switch was installed on the dash; costing me another $50 plus tow. The toggle worked out, for a bit, but when warmer weather came and I used the air conditioner that over loaded the toggle and it stopped working, switch was replaced with a similar one which worked fine until I turned the a/c on and that switch went out too. I stopped to see an old high school friend here in town with his own collision garage; who wondered why they didn't fix it the way it should have been done.
So essentially I am back to the beginning, before the water pump went out, I was having a problem with the cooling fan switch, and still I am having a cooling fan problem. Time to find a new garage.

Heard the news? Paul Rogers - new 'front man' for Queen? You have to be kidding me, Queen is old stuff, leave it alone. Paul, From Free, Bad Company and The Firm; you are a legend, don't mess with that. I am into the older stuff, and I think once "the band" is disfigured (members die etc) It should be left to the archives of rock n roll. I mean I can't see Paul doing 'Bohemian Rhosody or other original Queen tunes. Now sometimes a change will work, Beatles changed drummers, as did Rush and Pink Floyd changed guitarist (was a strange one with Pink Floyd, as the guitarist who left was also the main soul of the original Pink Floyd)
Having listened, think we can add Queen to that list.

Big Brother

I don't have a big brother. In fact my siblings are very close in age, about 1 year. I have a big sister (almost the same thing) an older sibling that can tell you what you can and can't do; with less authority than dad and mom. My government is not my big brother/sister. Back during WWII government became my "Uncle". Posters printed and tacked up "Uncle Sam Needs You". This is actually as 'close' as my government needs to be. You know the Uncle you hardly know, you see him 2 maybe 3 times a year and as an adult does have some authority but can't pull your pants down and whip you with a belt (this was in fact a very effective deterrent)

Enter big brother: U.S. Government.

Teachers have lost control of students. Why? well corporal punishment is out, thanks to big brother.
My experience:
When my mom enrolled me in Middle School she talked to the Assistant Principal saying her kids where not to be "paddled". Now this was all well and good, with good intentions behind it but me being the "black sheep" I was admitttedly very rebellous. I took this request by mother to extremes, rather than getting paddled I stayed after school. I simply accepted that school wasn't over at 3 and I would have to walk home. Now thanks to big brother the teacher has lost that ultimate dicipline. Disclamer: I know this sort of dicipline can be very easily abused. But to remove it from every household?

Wearing a seat belt is a good idea. Hardly a reason for a fine to not be wearing one.

18; big mile stone. I had to go to the post office and fill out the form that made it easy to pull my name up and send me a draft notice. So you are telling me now that I can be drafted to a war, risk my life and welfare in the name of Liberty but I can't go to the local pub and have a beer?

Say you are stopped at a traffic light. Traffic is minimal, except for the police officer behind you there are not other cars, do you wait for the light to turn green? Actually most traffic laws are revenue generators. Wreckless op, left of center, and a handfull of others make sense. I hardly see the sense in arresting a person because he had a couple of beers inside of an hour, and then very safely drives home. Not that I condone drinking and driving but let's at least be reasonable about drunk vs having a drink.
the facts: (never happened but what if?) I am at a bar, after work, throw down a beer, a shot of whiskey and drive toward my home. 2 blocks from my home a cop sees me make a right turn without a signal, pulls me over, does the breatilizer and finds my blood/alcohol % to be .1 (over the limit in most states) Who is really the victim in this senario? Do remember that in order for an act to be considered a 'crime' there must be a victim.

Drug war- failure! quit it

Trying to maintain my seriousness. I am going to ask you a very basic question. Do you think if Pot where a legal cash crop they would have found guns at these houses. And do you think they would have found anything other than pot plants and taxable income?
Think about it. A person on welfare (government assist) could now instead of being a drain on the tax system; a person could become a contributing member. I am not real sure of the money numbers but I have seen estimates in the billions. And please tell me why you can confiscate personal property when all the tenant was doing was making some taxable money?

Open your blinded eyes, taxes will come from everything from the sales tax to the production, income and excise tax you now get from alcohol alone. Seems like you might even ease the over crowding of jails and save some tax dollars on not hunting down a non-criminal.
