Names

I'm not sure but I think I created this alter-ego 'Pirate Named Neo' some 6 years ago. Took some creativity, and some thinking. The Pirate part is easy. At one point after getting my first computer in 2003   I met a guy who was to say the least a computer geek. A cool computer geek though, career was construction, liked to party, no pocket protectors and no he didn't wear geeky eye glasses. Though he did have contact lenses. Rich was not so much my teacher as I was his student, in the line of software piracy. I asked allot of questions, payed attention and did allot of 'googling' information.  In a short while I did become astute in the workings of the computer and software. Though, not the classic, class room type studying, more learn as you go. Thus the Pirate.
This being said (time for a disclaimer)  I'm not so much a pirate, in the illegal sense of the character.
Neo is a bit of a story, as it relates to both the movie 'The Matrix' and a furry friend of mine, Neoptolomus. Not wanting to bore you with the details, I use this as my screen name on the computer.   I don't use it as a real world name, though some of my co-workers and friends do kid around with  'argh, and matey'.
Seems I have never met a lady to take an interest in my 'alter-ego'; till Karen came around. Not to seem like a 'Casanova' but I have dated a few different women in my time.  Karen has picked up a few items and bestowed them upon me. A recent birthday and 'I was thinking of you' prompted her to buy me some gifts. Quite a remarkable woman I have found. I know you are thinking; its just a name on the computer, but I did think it worth mentioning,

Steering Wheels and Skirts

Was told by a friend, a man of course; if it has a steering wheel or in a skirt it means trouble. I will vouch for the steering wheel part, will also... well not going to incriminate myself here, I love my girl friend. Its that dang steering wheeled object. Now last night, well mid-afternoon to most I get in my Green Monster and all is fine. Well almost anyhow. the alternator is going out, the motor runs hot most of the time (according to the gauge on the dash) etc etc etc... well you know the ordeal, used car no payments but repair upon repair. Park said vehicle at home and even went up to the store last night to get groceries, and needed items, all was fine. Get in the Green Monster this morning, after adding water to the radiator, needing to do that for a bit. It took say a 3/4 gallon or so, start it up first to get the "juices flowing" so to speak... sounded loud, obnoxious and... well not being a mechanic, nor mechanically inclined I don't know wtf.. the car just did not sound like it usually does. Oh, did I mention I am in love... girl friend is great :)... but the dang Green Monster, fix one thing and another goes wrong. Alternator is being fixed this weekend, still lots to go but it is better than a car payment.

So my friend at work, a little more inclined to the mechanical stuff tells me it sounds like a slipping belt, well I already know about this, thus the repair on the alternator. I said no, I mean the sound of the engine. He tells me it sounds like an exhaust leak. Well this certainly beats the idea I had which was a cylinder missing or timing jumped.
So my boss being the great guy he is lets me pick up the old truck that just sits at the shop so I will get to work tomorrow, and Saturday too, get the car back on Monday and go from there, another chapter in the dealings with The Green Monster.

Oh did I mention, I am in love!

For my grilfriend, then its just a rant...

Oh what a beautiful morning... oh wait, that's already a song.
Well it is, so I guess I am here saying the song speaks volumes of truth.
So with love I send these flowers to a specific female, (I know you already got them once) ... Just wanted you to know I will always be there and always willing to lend a helping hand.(think there's another song in there)

Strange, I was always under the impression that if less than a dozen flowers should always be in odd numbers, to 'round out' the bouquet.  Seeing this grouping of 6 makes me think twice on that, but perhaps this would have worked better with 7? There does seem to be a blank in the top center of the arrangement. Though I do work in the agricultural field I am not a florist or flower designer.

In a way, flowers become my enemy from say, april to november. Largest of the flowers I fight would have to be dandelions, what I have come to know as "panic weeds". Was about 2 years ago I was on my way to do an application for a customer. When I pulled up in front of the house there was a 'tree ring' and immediately to the front door side of the tree ring was a dandelion in full bloom! This being the only weed in the entire lawn; but man it stood out like a broken arm... thus the name "panic weed".

Game Day

Superbowl Sunday, wow...
Ain't all that super. I was going on a beer run but the ice on my car stopped me. We got some fluffy wet snow the other morning. Like the nice guy I am I went out Saturday morning and dug MsNeo's car out; I was gonna start it but it would have been running 45 mins before leaving for a 4 block trip for her to go to work. I know, I should have come back in for some 20 mins. So the Green Monster is now covered in that snow, plus a little more, and now the temp having gone down is crusted ice about 6 inches deep on my car. MsNeo's truck was an easy one, fresh wet snow, was heavy but broomed it right off. The broom tonight on Green Monster removed about an inch off the top, leaving a crusty shell of ice. Oh if you just knew the history of this car. Cooling system, front axle, both fixed, alternator going out, the heat blower quit, and the list goes on, but dang, I like this little car. So as before mentioned, the blower doesn't work, therefore, no defrost on the front windshield, cold as heck to drive and I hate the cold! See, I open with announcing the football game and not a word about football. Ok so the Bengals aren't playing, one is allowed to dream?

Well things are not so dark and depressing, called MsNeo (she doesn't live here) and she will be over soon, take me out and will stay with me for a while. Talk about excitement beyond football.
