Burned again or... Nero, was Rome all he burned?

It could be a pirate thing. What software should I use? It goes back some years when I got my first pc and met a guy who opened my eyes to all the possibilities. So what software should you use? What ever it is you want, but do the homework. Compare, figure what you need the program to do, how much you are going to use it, what features it has or doesn't have, how easy is it to use and most important, is it compatible with your OS.
Point being when I was in pirate training I leaned towards a burn program called Nero. Nero was IT, the only burning software to use, it was great, on and on and on... well I found this wasn't the case. Now I did find my way to pirate this program and used it for several years never having a problem. Yes I did notice the warning tag "Nero 8.whatever has known issues with this operating system." Of course I ignored this warning, after all I was a pirate. Some years down the road my computer became out dated, to make a long into short I had to replace it.
Excited? Oh you bet I was, a new toy; so to speak. Adjust this, control that, change this, that and the other, make it truly "My Computer." Well came time I wanted to burn some CDs and DVDs and wouldn't you know I did not have Nero on the new computer. The copy I had for installing was of course out dated, for use with XP and not compatible with Vista. Well, you know what I did, wink... I found the one that was compatible download install and used for several months when... the same warning tag introduced me to the nightmare of the "Dreaded Blue Screen!"

Needless to say, I learned an important lesson here. PAY ATTENTION TO WARNING TAGS! I also learned that my original burn program, Roxio wasn't the problem my friend had said it was, Nero was; or at least the pirated copy I was using.
For those unfamiliar with "the blue screen" it means something messed up, in a bad way and your Windows program will no longer work. The only solution to my knowledge is Format and start over.

Disclaimer: I no longer pirate software. I am a law abiding pirate.

A Great Date

Interesting story I experienced last night.  I went out with my girlfriend to see The Rusty Grizwalds, in Deer Park. I'm standing there checking out the band, or the stage, I don't think the band had come up yet. A woman, 10 - 15 feet away from me is looking at me; as I can tell straight in the eyes, saying something. I check over my shoulder, yup... she was talking to me. I look, she had that familiar look, someone I knew or had talked to in my past. I step a bit closer, and I can hear her saying "How's your daughter... Heather, is her name, right?" brief pause, she announces straight to me, I have this way of knowing when someone is talking to me... "you have a daughter?" I quickly answer, "yes, but her name is Jasmine." Lisa (I think that was the woman's name) continues, "Oh, well I was close, a flower of some sort... so how is Jasmine?" Then the memory started coming back, I had talked with this woman a few times when I was living in Deer Park hanging in a local drinking establishment. I did recall how she had spoke, very excited at that, about her new house that she and her then boyfriend had just purchased.  Lisa was speaking of the house at 4011 such n such a street. She did go on to explain, you know... when you have more to do than you can possibly accomplish and you call it 40- 11 things to do. Struck me as rather odd that I would remember this from more than 10 years ago.
The night went on, quite nicely, Karen even commented on how we had both seen people that we knew from "back in the day." My girlfriend, Karen was the main reason I made it a point to be at that show. She's about my age, hitting the party scene in clubs back in the 80's when dance music was all the rage. That is the music the band Rusty Grizwalds specialize in. Karen, lives over the west side of town, met up with some old friends she went to school with last night... I was thinking, for me, if was easy to meet someone I knew, I lived in Deer Park for quite a number of years, Karen on the other hand, this was her first time ever being in Deer Park. Would have to go in the category of "Unexplained Phenomena".
Last night would go down as the best date we have had to this point. Here I thought the first one at the fireworks in Blue Ash was going to be hard to beat. We did work our way up to the stage, so we could be right in the mix, little dancing, lots of hugging and kissing. I had a great time, and even better than the closeness, I could tell Karen was having a great time, she did a lot more dancing than I did. Reminded me of last week end at one point, I found some music files on disc, Billboard top 100 of the year. I have collected these, as a hobby; from 1970-1989 or so, think the only missing year is 1981. I put the file from 1983 in and about every song was "Oh, I love this tune." Most other years, seemed to be topped with "Don't think so." Only a few tunes Rusty Grizwalds did got less than "I love this tune" and a happy dancing girlfriend. Thanks RG... I have caught you guys out at festivals and such several times, never to be disappointed in a good time, this one topped em all.

Game Day

Superbowl Sunday, wow...
Ain't all that super. I was going on a beer run but the ice on my car stopped me. We got some fluffy wet snow the other morning. Like the nice guy I am I went out Saturday morning and dug MsNeo's car out; I was gonna start it but it would have been running 45 mins before leaving for a 4 block trip for her to go to work. I know, I should have come back in for some 20 mins. So the Green Monster is now covered in that snow, plus a little more, and now the temp having gone down is crusted ice about 6 inches deep on my car. MsNeo's truck was an easy one, fresh wet snow, was heavy but broomed it right off. The broom tonight on Green Monster removed about an inch off the top, leaving a crusty shell of ice. Oh if you just knew the history of this car. Cooling system, front axle, both fixed, alternator going out, the heat blower quit, and the list goes on, but dang, I like this little car. So as before mentioned, the blower doesn't work, therefore, no defrost on the front windshield, cold as heck to drive and I hate the cold! See, I open with announcing the football game and not a word about football. Ok so the Bengals aren't playing, one is allowed to dream?

Well things are not so dark and depressing, called MsNeo (she doesn't live here) and she will be over soon, take me out and will stay with me for a while. Talk about excitement beyond football.

another one bites the dust

The Oxyclean guy is gone, what should we do? I can't beleive this is true, my oxyclean guy is gone, kaput, to shout no more. This is a travesty, a disaster and a real bummer. Without the Oxyclean commercial how am I to pick myself up from the muck and the mire to go on cleaning this or that or the next?
Well so long Billy, I know there are bigger and better things out there for you, and you will find them... Oxyclean Inc appreciates your dedication and hard work. Thank you.

I really will miss him.

flash to the past

Remember back in the day, it was Friday night, you hung around the coolest kids in class, if your parents knew the kids, and their parents you could do some outrageous things, stay over night, hang over their place till all hours and maybe even go downtown to the all night cinema and catch a flop show gone cultish like "The Rocky Horror Picture Show"

Not being a Hollywood fan of sorts, my movie experiences are rather limited. I do remember the name Susan Surandon, not sure if she ever made the radio/music circuit but I do remember this movie, had to be one of the best flicks I ever "participated" in.

off to work

Well here we go again, last of the aerations on schedule to be wrapped up today, with only me and one other worker to choose as a helper; John (fabio) chooses me. I am so thrilled (hear the sarcasm?) Then back to the shop for more shop fun, moving stuff, organize and straighten up. The real problem here is the guy we share the shop with. Its his stuff thats disorganized and taking up room in the shop. I can't complain, I've been on this job for almost 6 years which is a record for me. End of the year is dull, boring, and dirty. I work outside all year long, use chemicals, fertilizer, and even get my hands in the dirt but its not as messy as moving the stuff around the shop and I don't really like to get my hands dirty.

Well I will be on the computer again this afternoon, just wanted to say hi to everyone out there,

and as for you Bovine, I can't get a hold of you either, unless you comment on my blog, so there, you and your self serving....

and remember, and never forget, as long as you keep moving to the west the sun never goes down.
