The Truth Hurts Sometimes

In my mind that's just how it was. See, in Georgia we never got snow. Lived there 8 yrs never once did it snow. So when we would get a real heavy frost, all bets where off; couldn't have kids falling and breaking their necks. When I moved to Cincinnati it was a little different. Snow, lots of snow. Yea, I know Minnesota gets more, even Chicago and Cleveland. Talking to a boy from Georgia (well back in the 70's) I was absolutely devastated when I found out they didn't call off school so the kids could stay home and play outside. I mean really... To call off school for something as silly as treacherous roads and traffic difficulties. When I did hear this news, I did finally realize; "they" don't really care about "us", it was all about their buses and a little bit the legalities involved with bus crashes. Imagine that! 

 

White Death, again

I keep hearing snow snow snow... this is not exactly a good thing. For one I hate the cold, has to be cold to snow. Next is the longer the snow stays around lawn care can not effectively be done. This is already cutting my start time to the late stage. This does mean more Saturday work. I don't like working 6 days a week. Then again, I don't have allot to do on Saturday, so I might as well make some money while doing it. Looks to be an additional inch this morning, and more on the way...

Not to abruptly change the subject... but then again this is my blog, and you go where I go... Why is it that some people don't function well in the early AM? I seem to be fine regardless of the time I go to bed at night. Woke up this morning, no alarm clock buzzing, no radio; just woke up looking at the clock, 4:50 ish AM. I got out of bed, made the bed and the day begins. Well sure that's early; I don't have to be at work till 9:00 AM. I am just thinking, why sleep in when I only have so many days of life?

The Record (and I thought I had already payed my debt to society)

Now I know my posts the past few days have been weak and not of the sort of quality you have come to expect from me, so for this I apologize.  Must be that creative side I like to display is beat down by the cold the snow the icicles and being stuck inside. This is a record snowfall month of February, last record set in 1930 or so, I forget what the weather guru on tv said. I just know I have not seen this much snow in a very long time. I did take the time to measure the snow depth collected on top of my porch coffee table... 18 inches and I'm not all that sure the tape measure was all the way to the table top, could have actually been 19-20 inches. I dove the tape down the center of the pile, and there is an ash tray on the table top, not sure where though. 

Well take a look at that, its beer:30... not to worry, I have beer here too. 


Like  I said, the snowed in is not all that bad, not like I'm gonna starve or perish or anything like that.

Got some snow?

Oh how ridiculous can it get. All this talk of global warming, fossil fuels, and man made disaster. Some one give me a coffee break would you? Would "global warming" by definition mean less of this white stuff we have come to know as snow? Think of how each season would progress, is this not the "end of the snow period" it getting a little closer to spring, and with that GLOBAL WARMING looming about.... 


So I guess I have been running my mouth too much, this and that about getting "snowed in" and the mad rush to the grocery store and all that, but... 


HELP!  I HAVE PARKED MY CAR AND CAN'T GET OUT

Some times, especially during the winter I am so thankful I chose my profession, through some evil way now is time to start back up, get up and go to work and become like the rest of this great land and start paying my dues again. Lets all weep for poor Pirate, have to do out in cold again. Thanks to the snow though, I am putting it off till Thursday ... gotta get the fan in the car working again. 


its not so bad with out heat, the sun will warm the car a bit, its the windows, no way to blow warm air on them.
