What are the chances?

     Why Earth? An astounding statement. So if not by God, you are telling me that the Earth is just a coincidence? Just happened that it formed in the perfect place in the Solar System; with the perfect balance of oxygen and nitrogen to support 2 separate life forms? It's too perfect to just be a coincidence. There is obviously Intelligent Design here. I tend to think of myself as one who relies on logic... We have been to Mars; well at least we have sent rovers and satellites to study the planet. I'm thinking a planet sized Sahara desert. Beyond microscopic, there is no life here; and as I can tell the chance of microscopic life on Mars is slim to nil. Our other neighbor Venus is about as hospitable as the inside of a volcano. So why Earth? In our solar system one planet of 8 is hospitable enough to sustain life (as we know it) and not accounting for the asteroid belt or the Kuiper Belt. Would it be safe to say, in astrological terms there is not much "wiggle room" for a planet with life bearing properties? (class M in the old Star Trek series) Add to this Earth is the only planet in the solar system to have 1 moon. As the moon is responsible for the tide could you imagine what more than one moon would do; or no moon at all?

Drug deal at Wally World

ok, its night time, and dark, the "black hole" is my gray bengal tiger aries, the box next to him cost me $14 I'm a bit peaved! its just a box of cardboard. When I found this at wally world (walmart) for $14 I thought it would have some pine board and maybe even a sheet of carpet. Its just a cardboard box, shit talk about a rip off!! I'm sorta pissed.
but the cats do like it and it may just save my sofa. oh did I mention it did come with a baggy of catnip? lol..... drug deal at wally world.

Aries

Well now there is Aries. What a nut case. Why are all my cats near psychotic? This guy is just plain a total nut case. Chasing the toys I can see but to jump up on the bath tub, lay in the tub shortly after a shower and attach the nothings this cat has to be a real case. This cat will stand watch over the showflakes, and attack every so often... note the glass door between him and the snowflakes.

though crazy, he is one of those cats that really makes you love him. Just a great friend to have around on those days that nothing is really going on, sit a laugh at him.

Kodak... I mean Verizon moment

Again in a cute little pose perfect for a kodak moment (or a verizon moment) he woke
while I set the camera and the brightness and wouldn't stop moving long enough to get
a good picture of the menacing angel. Picture his head more laying on the little white
pillow, arms stretched upward and dozing in a deep cat nap.
As all feline house pets, the little devil likes to chase moving items,
feet under the blanket being one of his favorites. Snow flakes falling on the
balcony stand no chance with this guy on guard (even though the glass door separates him)

Though my apartment does have a auto closing front door, it does not always pull the door
to the latched and shut position, this little cat has found a way to get the door open and escape

According to one of my new friends (blogosphere) hot chocolate and rum is a good drink.
Well I went the extra mile, not being a big fan of rum, whiskey is more my caliber; I find this rum concoction to be quite tastey Jules, thanks man, new one to my list of favorite drinks. Now I did skip the marshmallow and whip cream. These I consider to be the fru fru (girly) part of the drink. To set your mind at ease, I will not be driving a motor vehicle or operating any heavy equipment for the next 12 hours.
Well seems we are getting some snow here in the Queen City, major snow like 3 inches or so. Nothing to you Clevelanders or Michiganites but that's a good heavy snow for us. You can't see it here but this cat goes wild for snow. Jumping at the door chasing after the snowflakes, Its pretty funny.

Aries (my science officer)

Aries. He is my cat, my friend and if you read my story Neo's Journey he is also my science officer.
Perhaps a hybrid bat or he still needs to grow into his ears.
What you can't see is the stripes on his sides, while being stripes they are broke up into short dashes and some spots, he is a very unique cat.
rarely to I get a chance to take his picture as I point the cam at him, he needs to check it out, and won't stand still for a decent photo session.
Strange? yes he is, but then I have never owned a cat that wasn't unique in personality (oh strike that, I don't own him, he owns me)
I do really think cats are the ultimate pets.

thought I might write about something but it all escapes my mind. I could just sit here a bs for a few hours but you would probably get bored with that. But anyway thought you might like to see an updated pic of Aries. So cute and so much bigger than the earlier pics. I know my phone cam ain't all that but its all I got right now. Well as young as he seems its time to take him to the vet to..... well, have his manhood removed. I know it sounds like a horrible thing to do to the one you love but had to be done. If not he becomes nothing more than an alley cat, and who wants to live with an alley cat? So Aries, buddy, I know it seems cruel and a massive invasion, you will be happy when this is done. God forgive me for doing this to my friend.

Well here I sit, Ms Pirate has gone to work, her daughter has left for school and I am just here taking some time to share a little of my life. I am on the winter schedule, work starts at 8:30 and I live about 20 mins from the shop. We, being an old friend that works with me and myself are building an office in the shop, its more like a wooden box, but will keep the dust off the paper goods and give us a check in area when we come back to the shop at the end of the day. Is coming along quite nicely.

Hoping a certain blogger friend will be reading this post, as her cat is under the weather. This is Achilles, back in his more healthy days, about a year before he passed away of old age. Born to his mother Molly behind my water bed back some years ago. It just broke my heart as he layed on the floor, to go meet his maker, (sad everytime I think of the good and bad times we shared)
Achilles was a mutt, Molly was a long hair tabby (with a variety of blood mix) I believe his father was an almost pure siamese (blue eyes and all) . I was even offered $50 when he was a kitten, I said no, I am keeping this one. Actual name Achilles was suggested by a friend in reference to a Led Zeppelin song, I thought the name fit as I have studied Mythology and I have not come out of the Greek/Roman names to this day. Achilles sister was Athena, Athena had a litter and I kept one black cat out of that litter to be named Jupiter, there was Mercury, Neptune, now I have adopted a kitty and his name is Aries; oh I forgot, there was also a cat I had to give to my daughter, Neoptolomus (apartment we moved to would not allow pets). My computer name is to that cats credit and sort of the Matrix trilogy.

Now I am left in a bit of a quandry. I like my new operating system, Ubuntu Linux, but I am not able to use the burning rom on the machine unless I boot up in the Windows XP os. Seems to have something to do with the fact that Linux is installed in the windows program but will work as an independant operating system. I tried to reinstall Linux as a stand alone but ended up missing something in the install and booted up with Windows and Linux is still in the Windows program. Maybe I need to remove Linux and just start from scratch. I know enough that I will eventually get this together, any geeks out there that may want to send some advice my way feel free to do so.

See, you can't really own a cat, the cat owns you.  Cats are funny this way.  Always on the cats terms.  Yea, food is one thing, he'll always come for food but did you ever notice he comes over to you when he is good and ready. I hate to say it but cats are very selfish creatures.  If a cat could talk it would be "me this me that, me, me, me. Notice the sound meow starts as me.  I love "my" cat, see he is really not my cat, I am his human. I am very happy to be owned by this cat.

Copper eyes; yea I am talking about my new friend, kitten, Aries (god of war).  Found him on Craigs list, perfect web site when you are looking to find something.  Well I just found out Aries does not like cameras pointing at him but I will get a pic of him soon.  I love cats
